Happy Birthday to my sister Danielle, we celebrated her birthday the day after my dad's. She got her own individual cake, which she would not share with me or Tina!

Tina and I traveled home to Southern California to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. I had a good time making the cake but had to walk away when they cut it. Not my favorite part. Was really good to see the family but I can live without the heat!

We walked in honor of my dad who after 8 years received a kidney in January.
I made this cake for him, I kind of think it looks just like him. Get it, Ortega(our last name) and its a chili? Had a good time making it, I think I am ready for more. Thanks to all of your support and donations at the bakery. Tina and I really appreciated it!

ok, here we go. i know, i know better late than never. so i thought that we would start the new year by sharing our good news to start the new year off right. some of you know that my father, ed has been waiting for a kidney for the past 8 years and we got exciting news on sunday night that on had been found for him. he had the transplant monday and is doing great. feels like this might be a great year already. happy ny!
